Avenue Italy Cucina Italiana -west Rancho Palos Verdes

The variety of foods and the quality of foods was excellent. everyone ordered something different and everyone was satisfied. the charcuterie/appetizer sampler was very tasty and a great starter. loved the great lazy-susan on the table for 7, which made the exchange of appetizers and desserts very easy.

I have eaten here many times over the years but not within the past year. For a family get together of 5 adults I thought it would be a good place for a Saturday lunch since it wouldn’t be too busy and in my reservation specifically requested the round table in the patio since it’s roomy and outdoors. When I arrived I was offered a four top table which they presumably would pull a chair up to, and when I asked about the round table they said nobody was sitting there “but you never know who may arrive.” The table sits 6 and yet I was told that table was for larger parties (there was 5 of us and as I stated above, I specifically requested it in my reservation). When I insisted again they agreed to seat us at the round table. There were other servers who were very polite and provided good service but the man in charge was surly and only remotely polite the other times he came by. We ordered quite a bit (2 bottles of wine, multiple appetizers, entrees, desserts and coffee) and when the bill came it had a line that included a 20% tip but was not clearly labeled as a service charge nor was it called out to me. In my experience the preset service charge is applied when there is a party of 8+ and more importantly is called out when they hand you the bill. The food here is good but not great, and this is not the first time service was subpar, but this time was particularly bad. I live in the area but based on this last experience I will not return again. Based on the way they treated me and my family, they don’t want our business anyway.

Great place for lunch with friends. Food was great and noise level was perfect for Seniors. We could actually hear each other talk!

Delicious dishes were served with the chicken piccata being extra yummy!

Giovanni is the best server I have ever had! Everything about Avenue Italy is a dream come true. This is the best Italian food I have ever had and I have eaten a lot of Italian! Definitely recommend!!
