For my first time felt like a pretty traditional BBQ and Ribs place which is alright in my opinion. The sandwich and burger selection is pretty decent, side dishes are great in size. The rest? Come on down and take a look at the lovely menu. The atmosphere is down to earth I'd say it's family oriented. Especially for the hunting and fishing family. 4 out of 5 is what I choose. Our waiter was grand in all the ways.
Went this past Sunday on Mothers Day, around 4:30pm. My parents and sister showed up before I did, and they said they were seated and the host said that the waitstaff would bring menus out. Odd, but I can understand why. I showed up maybe 5 minutes after they did and we waited about 10-15 minutes for someone to come by. I found that strange, considering they were not that busy when we got there. We were sat in the bar area which takes up about a third to a half of the restaurants floor space. In this bar area was my family and a couple who soon left, and one lady sitting alone. The normal dining area was pretty full, but not packed. The amount of waitstaff I saw should have been sufficient to work the entire floor if it was packed. But anyways. Eventually we got a waitress to come along and help. We got the menus and ordered drinks. I think she may have been a bit new because we hadn 't had the menus for more than 30 seconds and ordered our drinks when she asked what we wanted to order food-wise. We said no and maybe 5 minutes later we had our drinks and ordered our food without issue. Food was done quickly and tasted delicious. I had the Texas Brisket which I really liked. No issues there. My sister did ask for honey for her meal and the waitress brought ranch, but that 's not a huge issue, easily fixable. Through the entire meal though, we didn 't see the waitress once. No once did she come by and ask if we needed anything else, or if we needed refills or anything. When we finished we sat there for 15-20 minutes just talking and wondering where our waitress had disappeared to. It was taking long enough that I joked that maybe she had just left for the day and forgotten our table, as it had been 30-40 minutes since we had seen her. Eventually my dad flagged down another waitress and asked if she could get our waitress as we were done and ready for the bill. The waitress finally came by and apologized as she said she was busy. I doubt that was the full truth as the building was not exactly booming when we were there. Luckily paying wasn 't an issue and we didn 't get stuck there for another hour waiting for her to bring the paid bill back. Final verdict: Good food, awful service, though I chalk that up to the possibility of the person being new. Hopefully if you go you get a better waitstaff.
The restaurant is fantastic! It features a cozy cabin style with a fireplace and lots of decorative touches on the walls. The brisket is quite good, especially for the price, which is a bonus.
Fantastic food! If you leave feeling hungry, you have only yourself to blame! The Sweetwater fish was absolutely amazing!
