Amazing decor. Charming, comfortable and an extensive wine list. Prompt service and friendly staff. Asparagus soup, Salmon, quinoa, cod fillet, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Michelin Guide mentioned. Five stars!!!
This restaurant had been recommended to us, so of us went for lunch shortly before Christmas. There appeared to be at least dining rooms and we were in the main one. The room was bright and airy with tables set sufficiently apart to...give some privacy. The service was excellent helpful, friendly and unobtrusive. After a nice range of starters and despite it being the season for goose, we almost all went for fish. The Sylter fish comprised fillets of sea bream, salmon and sea bass and was excellent while the mustard-coated loin of cod was, if anything, even better. This is a lovely place for a really nice meal.
Try something else when you have to travel for business to Dusseldorf visiting a trade fair at the Messe. About km out of the city center there is this oasis of rest. Not the Obvious business hotel that you have seen so often but...a German living room as your hotel. The rooms me be somewhat outdated and you might not have a inch flatscreen tv but do you really care after a hard day of working. Rooms comes with a train ticket that you can use to get to the city in the evening. Station is across the street. Clean rooms , friendly people and great breakfast. Every hote is expensive during the trade fairs. This one as well but you get a lot for that price.
The restaurant christen is a little "off the fire" and it took an insider vat to go to eat there. in advance: a good tip. the restaurant has a spacious and cozy terrace with views of the garden, in addition to cosy dining rooms in the interior. the menu is very small. the service is flott, friendly and competent (e.g. in the wine proposal). the food itself: first-class prepared and tasted a kohlrabi cream with crabs and coffee oil. rather original than special: the layer salad in the wake glass (when was the story?) was excellent then the saltimbocca from the seaside with lobster sauce and vegetables. the chess fried ham around the fish was not too salty; the fish on the point cooked; the noodles would have worn a little more spice. but very good overall. attractive ambiente, good eating in nice company: what do you want more. great recommended.
