Okay, there's no rush here...we also had to wait for drinks, but this is France and if you want fast food..stay away.. I had the poulet in a Normandie cream sauce....superb!!! and you can't replicate this with English pub grub. Well done to Madame and presumably her hubbie the Chef. They were also serving takeaway pizzas whilst coping pretty well with a busy restaurant.
Simple place which I normally like, but the food was really bad and I 'm not that picky. I 'm happy with a burger and fries or simple pasta that just has to be descent. The chicken was so overcooked there were parts I could barely cut it with a steak knife. The french fries appeared to be soaked in oil. Not crunchy at all but flat out soft. The salad was basically just some lettuce with a dressing that didn 't taste like much. None of us were happy with our dishes. My dad tried to explain he likes his french fries more crunchy to gently communicate his dissatisfacion. The waitress was not amused and just said 'These are the french fries of the house ' (de la maison).
A real welcome greeted our party of five adults two children whilst on holiday in this tiny seaside hamlet in Normandy a few metres back from Utah beach. The Simple menu comprises mainly Moules, Fish, Pizzas Burgers plus Chicken and desserts including crepes, profiteroles and ice creams all delicious, well prepared and served attractively and quite quickly although we were not on any rush Staff were most friendly and helpful decor very attractive based around the soft colours and style of the local beach huts along the nearby seafront Only open March October Do pay a visit if in this area
Before visiting this Brasserie I thought I would read some previous reviews. I was surprised that they appeared to be less than flattering. As taste can be subjective, to say the least, we decided to call in and try a late lunch to decide for ourselves. We received a very warm welcome from the Host and were quickly shown to our table and asked if we would like drinks before ordering, Yes, their command of English was not the best but along with my limited knowledge of French we managed to order what we wanted from the menu with little problem. We opted for a 'Formula ' menu and mine and my wife 's starter was really nice, I had a House Pate and she had a selection of cold meats, both very nice indeed. For mains I had steamed fish and vegetables and my wife had Pork Loin and fresh vegetables, both mains were very, very nice and the fish was so fresh and succulent. I would have given my review a five star rating but dropped it to four due to the language difficulties. All told a really nice restaurant with attentive staff and a nice ambience, I 'll definitely try it again when next in the area.
