Popular Cafe - RAVENSHOE

Lovely country town cafe, beautiful homemade cakes and muffins, great coffee in a pleasant setting, we didn't realise the cafe closed at 3:00 , we got there at 2:50 and staff told us they were happy to serve us, they were very friendly and not put out by our late arrival.

We had morning tea here on the way through. Delicious scones for Devonshire Tea hot from the oven. Coffee was excellent. Tichum Creek Mareeba coffee. Quick and friendly service. Great décor. Recommend you try.

We ate there on Sunday, and enjoyed our Eggs Benedict were up there with the best. The sauce wasn't overpowering and the poached eggs were runny in the middle . . . Just right. The Mareeba blended coffee was also delicious. Our only problem was that the coffees weren't hot enough. The service was also good. Definitely go back there.

Always good for a cuppa and a bite to eat. As former locals its one of the many small businesses we miss

The Popular Cafe offers customers a brief return to the "Milk Bar / Cafe" of the 50s and 60s. With a layout of cubicle dining areas and street side tables it offers a comfortable reminiscence for those who can relate to the 60s.Food choices are good and taste is satisfactory, but sometimes the service falls short of satisfactory.Overall a pleasant experience if you aren't held waiting in the queue.
