We arrived around 1:30 PM, and many of the dishes were already quite empty, requiring us to repeatedly request more food. Unfortunately, the dessert, sushi, and fruits were never replenished. We also ordered the lobster sauce, but it was disappointing—too pale and resembling a raw egg on top, with no flavor at all, so we ended up sending it back. On a positive note, the crab rangoon, chicken on a stick, boneless pork, tempura vegetables, egg rolls, and scallion pancake were all excellent.
I called in an order for Moo-Shi Pork, that’s all. It didn’t smell appealing on my drive home. The taste aligned with the smell. It was burnt and bitter. I had to throw it out.
I pass by this restaurant on my way to and from work but had never stopped in. Last Saturday, we decided to have dinner there. The service was excellent, but the food was just average. I wish the quality of the food had matched the level of service. I don’t think I’ll be returning.
My family and I were regulars at the Mandarin during its early years. I especially enjoyed their Luncheon Buffet at an unbeatable price. However, over time, the prices started to rise, and I noticed a decline in quality, which led us to stop going for several years. Recently, I decided to give the Mandarin another chance, and I'm happy to report that it was just as good as I remembered from its early days. The food is fresh and cooked to perfection, with a great variety of dishes offered at reasonable prices. The Mandarin has officially made its way back into our dining out lineup.
