Dans At Green Hills - Reading

After dining at this restaurant for over 30 years, I am starting to see the effects of the struggling economy on its quality. My partner and I visited for a special anniversary dinner and I had called ahead to inform them of our dietary restrictions and the significance of the occasion. We were seated in a lovely area of the restaurant, but when I inquired about our vegetarian menu, the waitress informed me that something would be put together in the kitchen. What was served to us was a meager dish consisting of a potato, a piece of asparagus, a few noodles, and a bland sauce. Despite requesting a mushroom dish when making the reservation, we were told that mushrooms were not available. We were charged $22.00 each for this disappointing meal. When we ordered dessert and mentioned it was our anniversary, the waitress coldly stated that the restaurant does not acknowledge special occasions. For better service and a more enjoyable dining experience, I recommend visiting Emily's, located about a mile south, where you are treated like a valued guest. It is unfortunate to see this restaurant's quality decline from a Grade A to a Grade C-.

Dan’s is amazing! My favorite place in Berks County.

Outdoor seating was very nice for the weather. Very attentive, detail-oriented service. A little on the pricey side, all things considered.

We had dinner on the outside patio. It was a beautiful night and Dan’s is gorgeous outside! They have a lovely outdoor dining area. The food, as usual, was outstanding! We love Dan’s!

What a wonderful evening! The restaurant is very charming with an absolutely beautiful garden. The food was wonderful as was the service. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we were given glasses of champagne to celebrate. I can't wait to go back.
