Mike's Sandwich Shop - Reading

Oh my goodness! I'm going to write a short review that says all that needs to be said. The food was awesome! Great flavor, huge portion and friendly staff. I was impressed when my coworker and I both tried to order our own fry and the waitress suggested we didn't need that much food. I'm counting down the days until I can come back!

New ownership= slower service, took about 25 min from order to food in hand. The cheesesteak I got was called The Godfather, Cooper sharp, ribeye, onions. On the menu photo it looked huge. 15$ cheesesteak. Come to find out, they only make that in a small after i paid for it, so kind of false advertising if you ask me. With that said, steak sandwich was pretty damn solid. But for 15$ I'd go to Tonys in West reading, or even V and S on 5th street.

I've ate here a lot before new ownership took over ,decided since I was back in the area a few weeks ago to stop and get a cheesesteak.ordered ahead and got there before my sandwich was even started ,no big deal .watched them pull half cooked steak out of a container and heat it and melt cheese on it on the flat top.got home,short drive 15 min steak was gristly,and the roll was def not fresh at all.very bad!with all the sandwich shops around I have to say I won't be going out of my way for one here again! On top of that I had made this same review on their facebook page and they since deleted it and blocked me from their social media! Good business practice.as a company you take the good with the bad not block it all together to come off as something your not! SHAME!

We have been going to Mike's for over 20 years. Since the new owners took over the service and food has changed greatly. Its atmosphere is cold and is unfriendly and the food isn't as tasty. We gave it another chance and it wasn't any better.

Had not been to Mike's in a long while as there were better options. The last few times here pre-pandemic were kind of blah. Found out they were under new ownership and decided to retry as they have been advertising more. Food was way better than my past experiences. Red Knight cheesesteak was great unlike my past experiences with dry cheesesteaks there. I can say it's the best I've had from Mike's. Burger was good. Cheese cubes like Shell's. Everything was good. Will be back.
