Had been going for a while and food was OK but this time the sausage in the baugette was rock hard and gristly at the end. Totally inedible. I won't be going back. Ever.
I used to visit LA Baguette regularly in the early 2000s and always loved the lunchtime experience. I have started going back there more frequently recently, enjoying meals in the restaurant and having a coffee with my favorite chicken curry baguette with mango chutney. Despite the staff being different now, they are just as friendly and the baguettes are still as fabulous as I remember them.
Amazing fresh bread filled with delicious ingredients, some of which are unique and unexpected. The staff is friendly, although they can get busy at times.
We came here for breakfast as it was close to the railway station, but when I saw the overcooked bacon floating in fat under a heat lamp I opted for beans and scrambled egg on toast. The 'scrambled ' egg looked and tasted like it had been microwaved in a dish and the lady looked like she didn 't want to be there. Then when we had finished our less than average snack the lady was sitting down having her break, so an even more sullen girl came out and sighed as if it was too much trouble to even work it the cost of our meal, after a conversation with the other lady she finally came back with a price and another sigh and grimace. We felt like it was an effort to serve us and we were intruding on their lives.
