Mcdonald's - Reading

I visited the restaurant at 2am on 24/11 and while waiting for my food, I observed a black female worker who was coughing and sneezing without covering her mouth. She failed to wash her hands before serving the food and did not handle it properly. It was the most disgusting thing I have seen in a long time and it slightly put me off. I suggest educating your staff on hand hygiene and encouraging them to stay home if they are unwell.

This man Kamel is a top man well actual him and the lady that worked along side him this lunchtime. I don't go anywhere because I am unable to wear a mask so it can be really hard to go out when you do not have a mask on so I just don't go. Today we had no choice me,partner and 4yrs daughter as she was hungry. These two Kamal lady were so helpful professional I felt at ease. Thank you guy XX

We came here a few times whilst staying in Reading. Twice for breakfast, and a couple of times after the festival to pick up coffees. We used the order screens. Simple enough to use but they take up Alot of space in the restaurant. Annoyingly, they did not print receipts each time we used them, having to remember order numbers. Food was decent enough for a McDonald’s. Much cheaper than what our hotel wanted to charge for breakfast! Good coffee though!

Great location in Reading, self service screens mean service is quick, plenty of staff, tables were clean and tidy and I got my coffee in no time.

Could I possibly refer to anything McDonald's as a hidden gem? In this particular instance, I am seriously contemplating using that overly used term. Let me explain. On my first visit for breakfast, the place was incredibly crowded. People were gathered around the screens and standing near the tables, waiting for their orders. It didn't look like a relaxing place to eat. However, when I decided to check out the upstairs area, it was a completely different story. It was peaceful and calm. The spacious room was nearly empty of customers, with a variety of comfy chairs in stylish colors and cozy corners to hide away in. It was a tranquil oasis to enjoy a meal, sip coffee, relax, or read the newspaper before facing the chaotic world outside. I don't think many people know about this charming upper room, but I always choose to dine there now. So, yes, I am daring to say it: hidden gem.
