Vesttafel - Recklinghausen

I have stayed in the hotel Engelsburg many times and this restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Recklinghausen, Michelin quality , interesting combinations and friendly service.

This is the restaurant of the Hotel Engelsburg and the dining room is the same room in which breakfast is served. The quality of the food and restaurant did not seem to justify the price point here. There is a always a fresh menu however and for fine dining there are not many other choices in Recklinghausen. There is outside seating in the hotel courtyard in nice weather but cars may be coming in and out since this is also the main entrance of the hotel.

Loved it! Will return! Great concept for this place so I hope the team at Vesttafel can keep it up!The change at Vesttafel really made a very noticeable change. I grew up in Recklinghausen, live in the US and return every now and then. Typically I ignored the Vesttafel - but now it will be part of my "coming home" visits. We (party of 4) had dinner under the stars next to the very nice Engel fountain - very special atmosphere! They have themed menus every week, and it was a hit. The Schnitzel as well. One of the best things was the (free) amuse-Bouche, the carrot-ginger soup. Fantastic! Excellent and attentive service - well done!!As I said - we will be back!

Excellent resteraunt connected to the Best Western. I just stayed for a week in the Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the resteraunts steak week!

We stayed at the Best Western Parkhotel Engelsburg, the hotel connected to this restaurant. While we weren't going to eat here because it seemed the less adventurous choice, on our second night we did. We were meeting a local for dinner, and he suggested it. The food was excellent and artistically presented. As a vegetarian, I was impressed that the menu had three delicious vegetarian (one of them vegan) options. My companions had meat dishes, and our local friend commented several times on his food quality. The restaurant might be a bit pricey for a budget traveler, but it was a lovely option for us!
