Contribuisci feedbackWhen it came to choosing our entrees, we were a bit uncertain, but our waitress suggested the meat platter, assuring us it would be more than enough for the three of us, with leftovers for takeout. She was right! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the gyro was decent but a bit on the drier side, and the bifteki was succulent and packed with taste. We also ordered a side of Greek fries (which I recommend) and some spinach and rice. The entire meal was absolutely worth the $40. To finish off, we shared Greek coffee and baklava; both were delicious, and the baklava wasn’t overly sweet, which we appreciated. On the downside, the service was a bit lacking. Our waitress was overwhelmed with too many tables and appeared to be the only one taking orders, so she was understandably stressed. The manager/owner stepped in to assist, but it was clear they were short-staffed. Overall, I would still recommend this restaurant and would definitely come back.
The extensive five-page menu surely has something to please every palate. I took our waitress's advice and tried some new options, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed. Just a heads up: there are two entrances—one near the parking lot and the other off Bridge Avenue, which is where you can pick up takeout. Additionally, there are two dining areas, not counting the seating in the takeout section.
My 5-year-old daughter chose from the limited options on the kids' menu and selected linguine and meatballs. Although she enjoyed it, she found the sauce a bit too sweet and didn't care for the meatballs. However, the rest of our meals were absolutely delightful—just take a look at the photos! We started with calamari as an appetizer, which was perfectly seasoned, and we loved the accompanying marinara sauce. The tzatziki was incredibly fresh and tasty. The portion sizes were generous, and we took home leftovers. The prices were reasonable, and they have a Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) policy. We will definitely be returning!
We were delighted by the authentic menu, which started with a plate of pita, olives, and oil as part of our sampler. For appetizers, we ordered Keftedakia (seasoned Greek meatballs) and Spanakopitakia (homemade spinach pie), both of which were excellent. For our main course, we decided to share two hot entries: the Rotisserie Lamb (which was enormous!) and the Eliniki Pitela (a trio featuring Moussaka, Pastiche, and Yemista). Each dish came with a side of lemon potatoes, making for a hearty meal. We certainly had more food than we could finish, and we ended up filling takeout containers to take home. Every dish was fantastic. We couldn’t leave without trying the Baklava, which was perfectly baked and just sweet enough to end our meal on a high note. Although coffee would have been nice, we simply didn’t have any room left. We will definitely return and highly recommend The Greek Spot Restaurant to others!
A fantastic Greek restaurant located just outside of Astoria. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the generous portion sizes, and the complimentary appetizer. We will definitely return whenever we're in Red Bank.
