First they will want to know if you're paying separate or together and what movie. then they will want you to pick your seat so they know where to bring your food. Next you will have to order your food at the bar. There's other food options but I love eating a real pizza while watching a movie at the theater. It's a rare option! You will get a tray that attaches to the rail in front of where you sit. There are two small mirror image theaters that hold 40 seats. You can even see what's available online before you go or even get your tickets in advance if you want to go through the whole rigamarole. So far I haven't seen it too packed but I've only been twice. Both good movies and good pizza. I will say that I wish there was a zero sugar root beer option at theaters. Maybe someday.
Is this place stuck in 1994? No updates, rude owner, not an asset to the community. The drive to Bend is worth it to avoid this sad theater.
Took my mom to see Barbie last night for her bday. When I entered there was no welcoming greeting. Teds son was working as I was trying to check in. The last time I was there to see Sounds of Freedom an older lady scanned the barcode ticket I had from my ticket purchase in my email. So when I was trying to check in last night Teds son couldn’t find me in the system. He got frustrated because his dad was telling him I was the “2nd Emily”. The son then said “well you clearly know more then I do” and walked away from me. Ted got up and came to look up my tickets. He told me I didn’t put my last name on my order. I told him my last name and let him know I did put my last name on my order. He then found the tickets. I asked if he wanted to scan my tickets and he tried to tell me they don’t do that there. Went off on some tangent about how they don’t do things like that there. I just stepped away waiting for my mom to enter. Then the son told me how I was 5 min late and I let him know I was aware and that I was waiting for my mom to be polite so we can walk in together. After my mom got there we walked into our showing. My mom had gotten up a couple of times to get popcorn and refills on her beer. We were towards the end of the movie and she had went out to pay her tab. My mom and I both know Ted from over the years. My mom even cuts his sons hair. My mom went to pay and her wallet was not in her bag. Luckily she lived very close and she ran home to get her wallet and came back to pay. After all the negative energy and lack of customer service my mom did not feel the need to leave a tip for the popcorn and 2 beers. Teds son got so mad he refused to let he go back into the theater to finish the movie we paid for. She didn’t argue back so she went outside to have a cigarette. He then marched outside to tell her to get off the property! She told him how he wouldn’t let her back in to the movie to be with me so she was just waiting outside for me to find her after. After he barked at her again to leave the premises she did. I got out of the movie and had to figure out what the heck happened. I am disgusted at how the entire experience was handled. We try to support local businesses over the big guys. And to be treated like that after the tab and movie were paid for then not allowing their customer to go back and finish their movie because their actions were not rewarded by a tip?! Not okay! I hope that they can change how they choose to handle conflicts and feedback in the future. Especially after reading all the comments mentions similar issues others have had with the owner and his son. We will not be returning unless the customer service has improved. Such a shame.
I wanted to try this place while in town but not now. While waiting for my table next door we were standing not sitting) in the theaters empty courtyard, we were approached by a man, I will assume the owner, who said we were trespassing on private property. There was not one person inside the lobby or outside his establishment, really?? You just lost my business and the business of another couple who mentioned wanting to check it out. If anything, you could have been kinder in your delivery and stayed out of my bubble.
Even if they didn't show movies, I would still be here for the food. It is the epitome of locally sourced. Beef raised here, bread baked in house by the staff and owner, dough is hand made for every pizza, nearly every tap pours a local beer or cider... and it tastes incredible. To all the one star reviewers, you would be ashamed if you had the capacity. This is a small town. This is possibly YOUR small town. We have something amazing here, complete with opinions that you can disagree with or applaud. But leave your opinion of politics with your friends who think it matters.Reviews are for the experience.Or just ignore it all, kick back in a comfortable seat, eat a burger, have a drink and watch a great movie at what I consider to be the best movie theater in the country (I've been to 49 states sorry not Alaska and 2 other countries, fwiw).
