As visitors to Horley we went into the first pub we came across. The Tavern -Horley .......... It was like entering the TWIGHLIGJT ZONE everyone stared, really dark pub and a truly strange weird vibe.the band was good so we thought we would stay for the music. We ordered our drinks, then the security guy came over to the bar and said two of us had to leave because we had innapropriate footwear!!!!!!!!!! We were wearing fit flops. £45/£60 a pair, I was utterly gob smacked at the stupidity of this. We left and went to Witherspoon which was much more vibrant and full of happy fun people. So we were happy to spend around £100 in spoons.
We popped in here for some refreshments had a great evening, excellent food well presented good ale what more could you want
Been here lots of times over the past years at the moment it is very quiet during the week lunchtimes and evenings apart from Friday nights when they often have a band on Saturday night can also be busy a bit pricey on the drinks compared to other nearby pubs in the town
