We were completely misled when we arrived to find a two floored extremely narrow cabin with a ladder to loft to two single boxes to sleep in. The place is so small it is not possible to relax in the cabin. The kitchenette and bathroom are in a basement hallway and the upstairs room is so small and narrow there is not a proper table with a place to sit and only one tiny love seat under an angled roof. Maybe if I was a child or teenager this might have been fine but we expected decent accommodation after paying 67900kr for two nights. Why is it the same price as the other cabins? To top it off the one tiny window did not even have black out blinds or curtains which is standard for all hotels in my experience in northern Norway (incl with those that are much cheaper) so I was awake much of the night. This was the most expensive place we stayed being in lofoten and by far the worst. The staff and location however were lovely but could not do anything about our room.
We stayed at a 1-bedroom deluxe cabin with sea view. The cabin was well-appointed and the view was out of this world. The entire location is so nice, and the atmosphere relxaed and enchanting, as befits the village. Highly recommended. We were visiting the place off-season which was also a big plus for us, where we had the place almost entirely to ourselves.
Cannot recommend enough! Staff was super friendly and kind when we booked house nro.20 (by the sea with beautiful view). It was definitely a highlight for our Lofoten trip after long days of driving from Kilpisjärvi, sleeping in tent and car and so much other activities before we arrived to Reine. The house was just perfect, everything you can ask for and cleanliness was 5/5. We were full of energy again after this one to continue our journey. Book the Kayak. Thanks for Jan's guide, we are really enjoyed the activity here. It was one of the best moments in Lofoten during our honeymoon.
We drove 5 hours in by way of hills, mountains, waterfalls, and surf, through valleys, tunnels, cliffs, and bridges, to come to this remote spot in the middle of a harbor where the roads are narrow and packed with houses and industry in fishing. This hotel room was a warm comfort for a weary traveler. The room has heated bathroom floors, Nespresso, chocolate, loft bunks for kids, wood burning stove, candles, plenty of outlets, a fridge stocked with breakfast, soft and comfy bed, and a window overlooking the port waters. We saw a seal snacking on fish when we came in, in the middle of the night, a night full of light from a forever setting sun.
