I am familiar with Centro Midtown and the way their menu works and am a very large fan. I was so excited to try the new location and support a local business. I was expecting the restaurant to be different from the Midtown location but I was still expecting something equal in quality and value. This location compared to the other was a disappointment, the food was WAY more expensive, had less flavor and was lacking in options. My friend and I ordered only TWO dishes and one drink a piece (4 items total) and the bill was 85 dollars. The food tasted mostly watered down and we left very very hungry. The presentation of the food was pretty and the staff was nice. I would not consider returning or recommending unless the menu were to offer more flavorful options and prices that reflect what you are actually getting.
Opening night, and they nailed it! We love the midtown restaurant, and looks like they’ve got a good formula here too. It’s not as casual as midtown, but it is still relaxed and inviting. The staff is awesome and the food was perfect as usual. The menu was limited, so we ordered everything : . I’ve heard they are considering adding caviar service … yes please! So glad this place finally opened—we’ll be going back often.
Jane brought her a game. Friendly, informative, a joy. An incredibly big server! Chef is always innovative and combines aromas that seem unlikely but always amazing to eat. Only an extraordinary experience and my wife and I go to experience something from the ordinary.
I was disappointed with the lack of variety on the menu. Unless you like exotic type foods, this place is not for you. Centro will be losing a large part of their market by not offering a larger selection of delectable but not all exoctic foods. The NY Strip that I ordered (the only thing that appealed to me) was beyond rare. I had to send it back to have it recooked. When I saw that all it was were 4 thin slices of meat accompanied by a sauce, I almost laughed. The plate was $28. I will not return nor will my friend who accompanied me. This is the first time I have ever felt this strongly about a restaurant to write a review. I really feel that it was a huge disappointment.
The food is good but just way too expensive. We spent $100 before tip and left hungry. They said each plate comes with about 4 oz of food, and prices ranged from$17-$33. Everything seems about $5-$10 more expensive than at Centro North, which just makes it even worse. I just can't justify spending that kinda money in Reno on any food, no matter how good, when there's so little of it.
