Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Reno

Our dinner was scheduled to arrive at 6:30 PM. By that time, only part of the order arrived, missing drinks, rolls, and there was no distinction between the chopped brisket and pulled pork. To make matters worse, my daughter didn’t receive the sausage she had ordered. Fast forward two hours and four different GrubHub drivers later, our full order finally arrived. Four drivers were involved; three were told the order would be ready, but it wasn’t. Apparently, they ran out of ribs, which we found out only because the driver informed us before leaving. My daughter decided to double her portion of meat, but they mixed it in with my husband’s instead of giving her a separate container. And, still no rolls! The rolls are one of the best parts, yet they forgot them twice now! This is getting absurd! Oh, and don’t bother trying to call them; you won’t get an answer. It seems like they’re allergic to phones. This restaurant has been a disaster ever since the new ownership took over a couple of years ago!

This location is easily the worst! I tried to be understanding when they were out of the main food items and claimed they had refunded my $80 order. However, I never received the refund and it took over a week to speak with a manager who finally processed the return. I ordered again tonight, and they said they never received our order. Dickey's is great, but not at this location.

This restaurant serves the best BBQ in the Reno area. I've tried many other BBQ spots, but Dickey's stands out as exceptional. My favorite dish is their Western sandwich. I'm not too familiar with the offers involving the yellow cup, but if you're looking to get a drink with your meal, it seems like a great deal. I highly recommend Dickey's to anyone in search of delicious BBQ.

I put in order before opening for delivery. Delivery was by DoorDash. Unfortunately, my order was incomplete. I paid $35 for one person to eat. I tipped $10 for the deliver driver because I was asking for delivery to be around noon. The pulled pork was ok but came with a very small container of bbq sauce so made pulled pork very dry (didn't have bbq sauce at home). Fried okra was good but did not receive the soda ordered. This is twice I've ordered for delivery and both times drink forgotten. I'm thankful that this time food was all there. I've asked around to see if missing soda was driver or restaurant and heard many say it comes from this specific place.

Even when they 're out of their amazing Beef Brisket, Dickey 's seems to be redemptive in other ways. Last night, I was craving bbq, and when there aren 't many choices in the North Valleys for delivery, this tends to be our go to spot for a pretty consistent experience. I did a 2 Meat Plate for each of us and whatever was missing in other areas, they seemed to add an apologetic portion to make up for it. The pulled pork I had was perfect. The ribs were amazing and even had a hint of burnt ends, which added an awesome tasty crunch to already tender goodness. The others had Jalapeno Cheddar Kelbasa and Kielbasa with Chicken Breast. Everything was perfect, nothing overcooked or dry and portions were appropriate. Let 's talk sides... oh those amazing sides!!! Mac and cheese, potato casserole, green beans with bacon and onions, fried okra, onion tanglers all hit the spot. And big yellow cups were surprisingly big red cups leftover from the holidays and we didn 't have these so a pleasant surprise. The only reason they got 4 stars was a small miss on an extra roll that was purchased but it was only a .70 miss no harm done. These guys struggle to make an incredible experience. Even with a delivery that was supposedly running late came 15 minutes early! How about that? Give these guys a try if it 's been awhile. They 're safe to dine in as well.
