We were seated and the waitress and other staff missed us twice each. We asked for water and ordered. 20 minutes later our appetizer came out and not 2 minutes later our small plates of food came out. It was bland. A bit over priced for the service and food quality. Since we are from out of town, we likely wont be back. I say, if they are busy, just go somewhere else. Our reservations made no difference.
I would have anticipated that someone was picking the vegetables fresh out of a garden Best Thai I've experienced in the Reno/Tahoe region.
The place boosts such original flavor. I would put Moo Dang as some of the best Thai I have ever had. The interior is a menagerie of decor, that said, the old Thai movie posters are a blast. They have a noodle dictionary on the menu to help you order exactly what sounds good to you. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. All items come on a spicy scale of 1-5, 2 being a good amount of heat. 5 is an inferno.
The food is really good. We try the moo dang fried rice, the noodle and pad see ew. The noodle is awesome and has texture. The fried rice is also good.
This is the best Thai food in Reno hands down. Not only that, but it is some of the best FOOD in Reno, period. Moo Dang has a wonderful, eclectic selection of craft beers, wine and saki. In addition to this, it is a friendly, family owned place and the atmosphere is fun but not to rowdy. Located Midtown Reno, after dinner, there are a number of bars and other trendy spots to hit up for an after meal cap. Moo Dang supports the official Thai sport of Muay Thai by sponsoring Reno City Kickboxing. Moo Dang supports local businesses and please, support them. You will thank me!
