When i give a good review, or a bad review i assure you i have always passedon the feedback to the staff and usually the manager/owner. It is quite easy for some to take a cowards approach with sites like this especially if something minor has occurred and reviews have been good for the venue. Tall poppy syndrome can kick in when expectations aren`t quite met. Reviews here at The Old Cop Shop read really well so not just a case of expectations not being met in this instance just poor, poor, poor all round. The place looks clean, a dash of old world charm and an honouring of our police with framed items around the walls. Tick! Our waiter today though could`t remember the order, skinny cap, strong latte, buttermilk pancakes, lamb focaccia and had to return to ask again. Add a fresh squeezed orange juice "and if you have tomato i would like please". Skinny cap comes out a latte, no word on the tomato juice, the focaccia small and really some garnish or even an attempt at a side salad would have covered the obvious tiny portion. Buttermilk pancakes looked amazing but looks are deceiving. COLD very cold and stale and crumbly cake like. I complained and realised by the lack of concern that i may as well cancel the replacement and finish my focaccia and we would move on. Lamb was sparse as a filling but tasty then i bite down hard "bang" "crunch" olive pit. Don`t ya hate that? with only a small bite to go ah well, it happens again, "crunch", another one sore teeth and jaw the real bonus. Enough! Poor pancakes, miserly, poorly presented focaccia and now a dental appointment. When i presented at the counter, the sorry was begrudgingly delivered without any concern of "how is the tooth?" Thankfully, no pancakes on the bill but that won't stop me from NEVER RETURNING! To the owner/manager who took my complaints. Chefs that care about what they send out, how it looks, take the time to remove seeds and pits, making sure the items are fresh and warm and cooked properly are keys to your business. But some concern for patrons when such issues occur is more important than anything.

My partner and I had brunch here recently and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food, service and coffee were very good and prices were reasonable.I had the standard brunch fare ( eggs, bacon, avocado) and my partner had Muesli. Both were very good.Being located in the former Coburg Police Station quite close to Pentridge jail added to the enjoyment.Would eat there again.

What an awesome place to visit. Service was very friendly and very fast Food was very nice The building has some great history with an awesome setting Well worth a try

Nice decor. Converted cafe/restaurant. Once was the Coburg Police Station, hence the name. Great authentic memorabilia all over the place. Great atmosphere. Clean. Great restrooms.Only down side is the price. Way too expensive. Food good, but for what you get, it's overpriced.Convenient location. On Bell St., Coburg - a main road. There is a Bus stop outside the door. Coburg Railway Station (Upfield Line) within 100m easy walk. Good accessibility for people with disabilities

A close family group of seven enjoyed a great casual dining experience at "The Old Cop Shop " a converted former Police Station. A nice relaxed atmosphere inside, prompt attention, forgot to put water on our table ten minutes after we had been seated.Meals ordered, wine ordered, the imported Italian Red not in stock, the next Italian Red also out of stock, only the more expensive $60 + available ordered a local Merlot mid price range. Delivered white instead of red with the same winery name on the label, all fixed, red now poured. Meals generous in size and all agreed delicious and great value for money.I would certinly come back here again , recommendable. They need to keep up their stocks of lower priced wines although listed at 3 X retail.
