Went here on a wednesday night. Clean, friendly, comfortable. has an extensive menu including vegetarian. service was welcoming and attentive. Food was Great. Price was very reasonable. Four of us shared 3 starters and 4 mains and paid $30 a head.
Have been to this restaurant some time ago. Fancied an Indian and decided to return. The food was so disappointing will never go again. The entrees were so heavy and so greasy. I can 't believe the heaviness of the Naan. Asked and was told...it was the same chef. Must have been a very off night.
I had seen this place for a little Long time, however never went there as from the outside is unassuming and the street being next to a railway line lacks character. Once inside though it is apparent that the owners of this business take great...pride in what they offer. The place is fresh, nicely appointed and very clean. Lovely to see cloth tablecloths! Our waitress was very accommodating and we were served quickly. The food here is fantastic. We ordered palak paneer, vegetable biryani , chicken vindaloo fish Goan curry and a Baltic chicken as well as some garlic naan. Food presentation was inviting, freshness and flavour superb, and there was no oily taste or heaviness after eating. The portions were of good size and in the meat dishes there was plenty to share around. The biryani rice was wonderful and I would go there for that alone. The whole meal came to $105.00 for the 4 of us, which I considered to be very fair. All in all a great experience and once again I was reminded not to judge a book by its cover. We will definitely return.
My friend recommended this restaurant for its generous flavours and portions. Most of his suggestions were horrid throughout my trip to Australia but I had to tip my hat to him for OziDesi. The restaurant looks like a family operated business, however, its appeal should...not detour people away. One of the things I missed more about home was food with an explosion of flavour. With all the restaurants and eateries I visited in Australia, this place in my top 5 for flavour town. Not only is the food authentic, in portion and taste, but the prices are moderately inexpensive, which was a plus as a visitor from abroad. OziDesi is a hidden gem; I would highly recommend anyone to visit this place for a fulfilling, flavourful, satisfying meal!
