Additionally, there was information on the table stating that if customers wanted the coffee and cake special, which was only available for an hour in the morning, they actually only had 45 minutes so the table could be cleared for lunch service. While the sandwiches were decent at £8.50 each, we will not be returning as it is not worth the journey to constantly watch the clock and risk being asked to leave when our time is up at the table.
We dined outside for lunch and were greeted by a very friendly and pleasant staff member who took our order at our table. I chose the tuna mayo sandwich while my husband opted for the ham and coleslaw sandwich. Both dishes were nicely presented and freshly made.
It's not worth the money. Coffee is dish water. Absolutely tasteless. As for home made cakes. No they are not. Dry and just not worh they money. Popular with the locals buy they must be so old they have no idea.
Yesterday, I had a delightful afternoon tea with my daughter at this restaurant. It was our second visit and the staff were just as welcoming and friendly as before. The tea itself was very good and we both thoroughly enjoyed it without any complaints. It was excellent value for money. We also took a look upstairs and were impressed by the range of high-quality items available. We will definitely be returning in the future.
