Cafe By The River - Ribble Valley

The food her was subpar. Charged £3 ?! for extra cheese on a jacket potato. “Special” Chicken Broth looked like urine and vegetables and when issues presented to manager AND owner, met with rude remarks such as “you ate some of it” and “I had it for my lunch today and it was lovely. Credit to the waitress with short brown hair she was a joy and served us with a smile and actually apologised for the managers and owners treatment of us.

It’s a shame this Cafe has deteriorated so much we used to love going. The food is of very poor quality. My husband and I had the ham sandwiches awful ham, never used to be. The chips were reheated and cold. For what they charge because it’s not cheap it should be better quality. We won’t be going again as won’t a lot of our family and friends .

I enjoy visiting the riverside cafe with my elderly mother. The staff are all very kind and welcoming. They make the best coffee in town. The food is consistently delicious and it's so nice to sit outside and watch the river on a nice day.

I used to be a loyal customer of this restaurant for many years and always enjoyed my visits, but I have been disappointed recently by the high prices. During my last visit with a friend, I purchased a Biscoff cake slice and a latte and was shocked to be charged £11.25. I felt that the price was too high for what I received, especially when I could have had a full meal and a drink elsewhere for a similar or even lower price. It's a shame because the restaurant is in a great location and has a nice atmosphere, but I don't plan on returning unless they lower their prices. The portion sizes and quality have decreased while the prices have gone up, and customers are unlikely to continue paying these inflated prices.

Had today's lunchtime special soup toasted sandwich. We sat outside which was lovely beside the river. Each member of staff was friendly, helpful efficient. Everything was clean the lunch well presented. It's not cheap but I dont think anything is today. Will definitely go again.
