Come to find out she's a teen taking order with little knowledge of the menu. I understand it's a family run business, but some form of training should be taught. I bought 5 lbs of crawfish and got 1 additional pound for free. It didn't look like 6 lbs. Also ordered crab legs and their price is fairly inexpensive compare to the market for 2 clusters. You get what you paid for, I guess. The crab legs quality was poor. Meat was dry as in it may have been old product. Over the last 18 years I come to this place to eat because I enjoy their flavors. Many owners later, it's not getting any better. Hard pass for me. I rather pay market price for quality.
The first few times we came here the food was amazing! My wife is Vietnamese and she was able to order EXACTLY what we wanted and we were in food coma by the time we left. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if they have switched owners or if they can't get decent help but since Labor Day the food has been mediocre at best and the service... let's just say the last time we were there we had to ask for napkins, then spoons for the soup we ordered, then the forks for the Whelks, and the clams we ordered were still cold with the ingredients literally dumped on top. Whenever you order 4 different items, nothing but water to drink, and the food bill itself is over $110, you should expect more than this place has going on lately. And after having to chase someone down to pay my bill and them simply twisting the kiosk around and walking off to leave me to check myself out, needless to say there was NO TIP included and we are unlikely to be back again anytime soon.
The restaurant offers two menus: one features a mix of typical Cajun and fried seafood dishes along with pasta, while the other showcases an impressive selection of snails and bivalves that are hard to find in the Dallas area. We chose entirely from the second menu and were not disappointed! We ordered sweet snails in garlic butter sauce, stuffed apple snails, and soft shell crab with salted egg. They were out of apple snails and recommended the Canadian whelk instead. The sweet snails were a delightful appetizer, generously laden with fresh, sliced garlic floating in buttery goodness. Visually appealing and tasty, they weren't very filling, so we ordered a side of ramen noodles just to soak up the remaining sauce. The soft shell crab was fried to perfection, wrapped in a light, crispy batter and topped with scrambled salted egg. My wife was a bit let down by this part because she expected a salted duck egg instead; however, I thought the scrambled chicken egg with salt complemented the crab beautifully. The portion size was generous for the price, more than enough to satisfy everyone. Finally, the Canadian whelk was a delightful surprise. These large snails came served in piping hot shells, and I recommend eating them quickly, as the hot shell continues to cook the whelk inside. Some that we left until the end of the meal ended up a bit overcooked. Overall, the meal was excellent, and I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!
Currently, crawfish is priced at $9.99 per pound. We were advised to try their popular flavor, "Fam Bam." We ordered 5 pounds of Fam Bam and 5 pounds of Cajun, but we couldn't really tell the difference between the two. The crawfish didn't pick up much seasoning because they didn't provide us with enough sauce. I also noticed that they offer hot pot at this location.
Wow! The new seafood dishes are incredible! I had a craving for seafood, and this place completely satisfied it. You absolutely have to try the soft shell crab with salted egg—it's my favorite! The texture is delightful, and it's bursting with flavor. The clam soup, especially the Thai tom yum, was my second favorite; it strikes a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and salty. The blue crab with tamarind was a good size, and my fiancé really enjoyed it. The stuffed apple snails were pretty good too, with a fun presentation. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with the seafood here, and I'm definitely coming back this weekend! You should check it out!
