We were lead to a dirty table that still contained the remnants of the previous diners in the building to the left of the main entrance. We knew the process for ordering, however, we did not know that when you are banished to another building, you could not even order wine at the bar that was in said building. There was a beautiful table set up, with coffee service, little desserts and a beautiful cake on the west most entire length of the very cold room. We looked at the hostess and told her that we were not with any wedding or celebration party, she stated that she knew that and that party, which I would think paid quite a bit of money for their celebration would simply be in their area and we would be in our area. This meant that we would be seated approximately two feet in front of and directly behind some sort of celebration. We departed the very uncomfortable situation with its cold room and equally cold service and had a fantastic dinner and kind service just up the road at D'Agneses. Would NOT recommend this overpriced odd place.
First timers: The wine was really good, the setup to get the wine is a little weird. The line is in the middle of the room in a main walkway, tends to get a little chaotic. The food was good, my wife enjoyed the soup of the day. She liked it a lot. We got the fries and I got the pepperoni roll. The down side to the pepperoni roll was that all of the pepperoni was crammed into the corner of the roll and that was the only place. The rest was just cheese. While still delicious, it was kind of a bummer. I feel like over all the environment is welcoming. The only real down side was the staff that was cleaning up the plates. They continued to bang the plates into their carts over and over. At one point the cart was directly behind me and the gentleman placing the plates on the cart I swear was testing the strength and durability of the plates. I feel like for a winery where you should be trying to relax... a loud BANG right behind you takes away from the calm environment. All in all we will consider coming back, but I do feel like there are better options out there.
Along with most of the reviews I'd say the place is just ok. The buildings and grounds are very nice but the wine is so-so and the food can be hit or miss. PLUS for the prices and hastles they could hire some dedicated servers. Especially when you have to order from 2 different lines for wines and food.
This is a nice spot for a group event or a date night. It was a crowded Saturday evening, but we were fortunate to walk in and immediately fine two seats at the bar. It was very comfortable and there is a very modern look to the place. Everything was clean and the server was very attentive. My wife and I split the charcuterie plate, which I posted a picture of, and the cheese ravioli. Both were very good! We did not finish the meat and cheese, so I made a sandwich and took it to work for lunch on Monday. The ravioli was very good as well. The food came out rather quickly, especially considering how crowded it was. Pets are welcome on the outdoor patio. I do not believe they had any alcohol except for wine. There is also a large dessert bar. They have cupcakes, macaroons, and a variety of other sweet treats. My wife and I tried the parfaits because they looked delicious, but we were honestly both disappointed. It didn't really taste fresh. We will try something else the next time we go. I would definitely recommend Michael Angelo's Winery. Check out their website for more information!
This is one of those places if you go once and move on to someplace else. It is not a place that I would suggest to my friends for us to revisit. My experience was good, but I was just okay. My friends had been there before and really like the place, but the layout was kind of like a cafeteria IMO. The food was good, the wine choices were limited, and the staff was nice. It's not in a location that was convenient for me and I'm unsure of how my friends found this place. I think this is a fun place for people that like loud talking and randomly placed seating. It's not a romantic date spot, it's a catching up with old friends kind of place if that makes sense.
