Chez Max - Richm

Dinner last night was better than delicious, it was scrumptious. We had soft shell crabs and a wine that went perfectly with it. The service, as usual, was outstanding. Chez Max is one of my favorite restaurants in Richmond.

Ours dinner and service was amazing! The lamb chops were perfectly prepared with wonderful flavor. The creamed spinach was to die for. My husband who eats nothing green even like it. Our favorite place for a date night!

Love Chez Max I had my 90 year old mother here with me in Richmond for a four days and wanted to give her a few nice dining out nights (she lives in assisted living in NOVA). Chez Max always pops up in my mind for special occasions and celebrations. As usual, our serve was knowledgeable and most patient with mom, who can't hear or see very well. As usual, the meal was fabulous. Mom started with the escargot in puff pastry, I had the brie/avocado salad Mom had the salmon stuffed with crab with a lovely cream sauce and capers and said it was the best salmon she had eaten in quite some time ending up eating the other half of her meal for breakfast the next day. I had the special, soft shell crabs. While delicious, they were very small and had almost too much butter. I know, I know! But they were sauteed in butter, not served with a butter sauce so they seemed a little too greasy but they were good! We even had dessert which was intensely good. Highly suggest Chez Max if you want a lovely dining experience without the sheshe faufau.

Anniversary dinner including my stepson at Chez Max was a remarkable evening. We've been over 30 times and felt Chez Max was the logical choice for us. Oliver as the food and wine professional provided a great selection of wines and champagne. He constantly establishes himself as a true professional of wine and cuisine. Good food from the appetizers, soup, salad and entrees, plus we had every dessert on the menu. All in all a very nice time indeed. Never felt rushed even though we were the last table in the establishment. The bill for three including drinks and tons of food was priced accordingly and of course delicious.

Greeted upon arrival, and seated immediately. Offered water and our beverage requests were taken. Our courses were all enjoyed and we never felt rushed nor ignored. Service was attentive and the quality of our meals was splendid. The ambience was perfect for enjoying conversations during the evening dinner.
