You have now until Monday, November 18 to have a taste of the Feast: Asian Dining Festival. For my last stop, I invited my friends to join me at Continental Seafood Restaurant to enjoy a $178 set menu for 6 people.
The food is excellent and people are lining-up to have a taste of thier original cantonese cuisine.food is so affordable as well and easy on the budget.
I can't decide if Dim Sum from pushcarts works for or against me. I like to see what we are getting but I tend to like everything I see and end up with too much food!. That was the case on Sunday morning at Continental. This is a very large, very hectic dining room but you cannot possibly go hungry! There are many ladies with the pushcarts circulating and some of them are pretty good salespeople! Other ladies, I notice, just kind of look at us and keep going. I am not sure if they assume we will not be interested or don't want to attempt to breach the communication barrier I would love to learn Mandarin or Cantonese but my partner has me busy working on Tagalog . Most of the 6 items that we had, we enjoyed. We started with Rice Roll which unfortunately came in a portion for 6 people or so and in the end we only ate about half of it we need to bring friends . I do love that it came with 4 sauces including a spicy mustard. Next was Eggplant and Fish paste on a plate with Tofu and Shrimp all in a black bean sauce. Barbecue Pork buns were also good. Next were the Steamed Pork Spareribs and I'm sorry but I don't really understand the allure of this. It seems like mostly bone and is a bit of work but I know it is popular item so we had to give it a try. We also tried the not so aptly named Crab Balls. These are really Shrimp Balls with a tiny crab claw inserted to make them popsicles! Not that I don't love shrimp but this item was $9.80 and I would not have it again, although I give points for creativity. Finally the Phoenix Talons arrived! This was the item that officially pushed us to too much food but we love them. This was a tasty and nicely done pretty standard version and despite being full, we wolfed them down! We left at around 12:40 ? and there was a huge line up at the door. If you go on a Sunday, I would take that into account. I am pretty sure that they take reservations. This is a fun and comfortable place with a lot going on. I do recommend it even if you are a neophyte at Dim Sum.
• used to be dimsum ordered via revolving cart<br/ • nowadays, its order as you want<br/ • quick service, good food service<br/ • I find the food good but not the very best that I had dimsum but this place works if you have a large group as they have large tables that can fit your party<br/ • free parking along this strip mall<br/ • I would go back again because of the good service
Last Christmas, my family and I attended the AM1320 CHMB Christmas Dinner at the Continental Seafood Restaurant in Richmond. My dad is an avid listener of AM1320, a Chinese radio station in Vancouver, and he thought it would be a good idea to go for their event. It was a ticketed event priced at $55 per person or $499 for a table of 10. The evening also included entertainment by the station’s radio hosts, singing performances, a photo booth, appearances by Santa as well as a raffle draw with an impressive number of prizes.
