This is part of a chain called Deer Garden, they serve mainly Hong Kong style noodles that can be customized by you picking all the different toppings, soup flavour, vegetable choice, etc. If you plan to come here during weekdays during lunch time, don't think that you will get a table right away, and if you have limited time for lunch, better come after work!
The last time we were at the Deer Garden Signatures was in 2017. This branch of the restaurant is located in the Union Square Mall behind the Canadian Tire on Number 3 Road. We got there around 1:30 on this Friday afternoon and there was a 10 15 minute wait for a table. By 2:30 the restaurant was maybe 1/3rd full. My spouse and I ordered 2 dishes: • Fish balls and beef noodle combo $11.95 – There were 4 fish balls with beef and noodles. You have a wide choice of noodles and broths to choose from. My spouse generally enjoys her noodle dishes and she had no complaints. The set dish came with a hot drink. For $2 more my spouse ordered a mango smoothie. • #301 House special baked seafood and pork chop with mushrooms on rice $13.75) – The seafood consisted of 4 small bay Scallops, 3 u20 prawns, lots of limitation crab and white fish. There was a white cheese sauce over the seafood. The pork chop was a breaded boneless pork cutlet about a 4 ounce portion) topped with a tomato based cream sauce. The white cheese sauce was bland and generally there could have been a bit more seasoning for the whole dish. Overall, I thought this was a pretty good dish. This set menu also came with a hot drink so I ordered the coffee tea combination. The total bill with taxes came to $29.10 before the tip. Ratings Breakdown: • Taste generally better than average • Price vis à vis portion size above average • Service – average. Food arrived in a timely manner. The baked seafood dish was supposed to take 20 minutes but it came fairly quickly. We had to ask for tea refills. I would rate the overall food experience above average trending towards good. 3.5 out of 5 rating. Notes Tips: • Cash only, no debit • There are a few branches of this restaurants • Check the website for additional information. • Lots of parking • Lots of eating options in this mall
The waiter did not have any sense on the guidedogs and rejected my inquiry directly. It is common for many restaurants which is sad. I did not bother to explain it's bylaw that they are required to accept our visit. Even though they have good service, food, and value from my previous experience, I would not visit them any more. I had to stand up for the blind/disable people's rights!!!
Went there on Sunday before 6 pm on Sunday, no line up. Found out price increased to $11.25 for the noodle meal. But it is still a big full bowl. Although price up but still acceptable without chop down the size. When I left, already a line up outside.
