The food is not freshly made at the restaurant and some of the dim sum was the worst I've had in Richmond. Nobody what it wanted to touch certain dishes because we very quickly found out that some of the wraps on the dim sum's (such as the transparent wrap on the har gau or shrimp dumpling) were too tough to eat. Sad.
This place is now run by the same people of Taste Good Seafood (on Marine & Fraser). There is limited parking and must park on the street. Not much AC as the place was hot. Food was so so. We ordered BC crab ... for the $27/lb, the crab had no meat ... it was more of a "water crab". The original place on Marine is much better. The Steveston location tailors to tourist. Oh, don't bother with the dimsum here.Don't waste your money ... so many better options in Richmond.
This is an offshoot of a restaurant in Vancouver that came to the Stevenston Village in Richmond, the food is very up to par with their original location and the service is actually better in my opinion. We had the Korean Sole (Fresh) done in 2 ways the fillets stir fried with celery and snap peas then the bone is deep fried to a golden color and were absolutely crispy!! I will come back to try out their dim sum soon! Thanks for coming to Richmond!!
When the waiter threw the plate and cups on the table, I noticed the restaurant has changed ownership. We ordered a set dinner and the soup (buddist jumped over the wall) should have abalone, sea cumber, shark fin but turned out chicken feet soup. Never go back again.
I have given the restaurant a 3 because of the very friendly owner/manager and staff. The food was not as friendly. There is a very extensive menu with many seafood offerings. They have a seafood tank with sort of live fish and shell fish. The portions are generous although this is not "cheap eats". For us and our group unfortunately the taste was missing. The fish we had was deep fried with the skin which maybe the style but it detracted from the delicate taste of the fish. We had the spareribs with preserved plum flavour. It is an unusual combination but did not inspire. The noodle dish was overly crispy and again did not come with a sauce that brightened up the taste which seemed absent. I was hoping for a new star Steveston Chinese Restaurant but hope springs eternal.
