Ebisu Japanese Restaurant - Richmond

A way better setting than the one downtown. say at the bar and had great friendly service. excellent food and a relaxing time.

While visiting our friends in Blaine, we all slipped across the border and spent a few pleasant hours in Richmond, BC, including lunch at the Ebisu, which our friends recommended. It was a highly satisfactory lunch. I had a sushi and sashimi lunch platter. The fish was fresh and delicious. The sushi was competently assembled. Service was prompt and attentive...very good. The decor was modern Japanese and the establishment was clean. The restaurant matched up well with our favorite neighborhood Japanese restaurants in the Seattle area. I'm sure we'll return someday; perhaps for dinner.

Stepping into the restaurant, it appears to be an above average venue. We had reservations, so we were seated right away. The menu offered a variety of choices, from individual suishi to bentos or boats. The good side is the prices were reasonable. My choice, basically a bento, at other Japanese restaurants would be presented on a plate, but this time it was on a boat. There was also a combo for two boat, and it was impressive, as well as many other single boat orders. The servers were on top to clear any finished dishes to make room for more. I thought the quality of the food was good. The sashimi was nice, the tempura batter nice and light, and the sushi was made with rice not soggy or hard. I would return to dine again. The stand-alone restaurant is part of a mall, but they have their own parking area and is free in front of their restaurant.

First time here, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. We had the sashimi combo B for lunch, salmon, tuna sashimi with nigiri, salad, miso soup and tempura. Good portions, fresh and the service was really quick. Definitely coming back here.Had the apple cheese cake for dessert, yum. When in Richmond, check this place out. Very attentive service. Reasonable prices too.

Manager is extremely rude, tip are forced and. Food is expensive but below average. Worst experience.
