Galiano Cafe - Richmond

I come here on a regular basis due to the fact I fly lots for work and prior to my flight I like a meal. I ordered the wonton soup and was disappointed however I've been back didn't care for the burger and finally coming back I had their sandwiches and those I found to be good. Price is right could improve on their Chinese menu.

I've dined here a few times with family while waiting for a plane. And I feel I need to slightly amend what others have said: Yes, this is the only dining option IN the South Terminal, but it isn't the only option within reach -- even if you have carry-on bags. "The Flying Beaver" cafe is a mere five-minute walk down the road and, believe me, you get a much richer, fulfilling meal there. So, Galiano isn't technically the only option around...That said, the food is OK for what you get. It's definitely not great, but it's not bad either. Just be warned that it can get busy from time to time and, if that happens, you might be waiting a little while for your food. I think, with respect to this cafe, you just need to approach it with realistic expectations: it's a small space with a lot of menu options (on paper). And, you know what they say about places that offer an abundance of seemingly random items -- none of them might not be particularly good. That's kind of what you get with Galiano Cafe: so-so food.If you're really hungry and can't make the five minute walk down the road then, hey, check this place out. If you don't, then no worries! You're not missing too much!

Had a really good wonton noodle soup. The wonton were delicious and the portion was great! Enjoyed a fresh hot coffee as well. Prices a little high but they are they only place to eat.

So when you think of a panini what comes to mind? Do you think of thick, high quality bread? Well if you order one from here that is not what you will get. You will get a grill cheese sandwich on bread like wonder bread. But that is after you wait for 20 minutes. Oh and if you want wine you will get a plastic clear cup. So 1 panini and 2 glasses of wine was 20 bucks. NEVER will we eat here again!!

Food is ok but expensive for what you get. Service was pleasant. Be aware if you are there mid-afternoon or later they often run out of food. Not a bad spot to kill an hour while waiting for the plane.
