Gyo-O - Richmond

An authentic Japanese restaurant that seats about people. I ordered a seafood yukke don which came with a bowl of miso soup. The marinated sashimi in this rice bowl made me want to eat more rice

Have been here a couple times and ordered rice and udon bowls, which were amazing. Really filling and fresh ingredients. Small place but really comfy. Would highly recommend this place for Japanese food that's not sushi

Gyo-O is a great alternative to regular sushi restaurants. Their rice bowls are actually seasoned compared to the plain rice/sashimi dons at other Japanese restaurants. The prices are reasonable and range from for their mini bowls, to for their regular size bowls. I...highly recommend their seafood-yuke don as it is one of the best on the menu. Their seafood ramen is also tasty, but I've had better ramen elsewhere. Their menu also offers items such as karage chicken, takoyaki, and assorted sashimi combos. The restaurant is very clean, but also very small so expect a wait if you're not early enough to get a table. Their staff are all Japanese from what I could tell, and although service was so-so, the food comes out fast. Each time I come to Richmond, I always make a stop at Gyo-O and you should stop by and give it a try too

This is a quaint little restaurant run by real Japanese. The service is excellent and the food is always fresh. We ordered dons, noodles, and sashimi plus a few other side dishes. Their ramen is most outstanding. Portion size is just right with an estimate...of per person. Lunch sets are about each

A fabulous alternative to Sushi Restaurants. Their ramen noodles and rice bowls topped with various different fresh seafood offer great taste and great value in a quaint, intimate environment. Service was always good the many times we have visited.This last visit, we ordered the "Kaisen...Yukke Don" and the "Seafood Salad Don" both were excellent the rice was perfectly cooked, the seafood fresh as always. Highly recommend
