I knew there was another location on Victoria Dr, so headed there. It was lovely to see one of the waitresses we would regularly see at Main St. there at Victoria...and she was happy to see us as well.We ordered our 4 favorite dishes, and if we had had our eyes closed would not have been able to tell the difference between locations. The taste was the same...perfect!!!Victoria Dr. is much smaller, and a very bustling place. We got there just after 12 noon on Mother's Day and got the last table.A very unpretentious location with great food at reasonable prices.
Service was fast, food was great. Luv Han Nam Chicken! Luv curry beef brisket on rice! Special thanks to the staff who almost always offer the soup of the day and a lollipop for the kids.
We happened to just be looking for a simple hole in the wall to have some noodles on Victoria Drive and happened to stumble upon Mui Gardens which has an outlet in Richmond well known for fantastic curry. You would never come here as a destination, it's strictly a neighborhood place. It is simple and unremarkable from the exterior and the interior is your standard hole in the wall. But the curry beef brisket noodles. Yum, just like the Richmond operation. We also had chicken congee, and beef tripe noodles. There were plenty of standard things on the menu, mostly catering to the Chinese crowd. And in a most unusual twist, the wait staff are quite friendly. Simple and good. Great for locals.
Came here with my cousins. I let them order as they were 'regulars' here. The menu offers combo specials for $11 which we didn't have. We ordered a half steamed chicken (meaty pieces); Singapore curry rice noodles (didn't expect the no curry color but was spicy); pea shoots with garlic (my fav); and tofu and fish hot pot (good portion of food). Also got a complimentary bowl of carrot and squash soup and the red bean soup for dessert. The restaurant is located in a busy area and would even say it's a busier area than Chinatown. My cousin called it the 2nd Chinatown. There's 1 hour parking until 6 pm at no charge. Seemed several of the patrons were also regulars. The female staff are friendly and joked with everyone. A nice change from the fancier Chinese restaurants that aren't as expensive.
Great food, excellent service and good pricing. If you like banana leaf then you'll love this place. A lot cheaper and bigger portion. Don't be expecting a nice renovated location but that completely makes up for the savings. After all you are there for the good food not paying for their renovation.
