Great bar, staff is is very friendly, atmosphere is comfortable. Prime rib on Friday is very Good ! We will return.

Lot going on in this place. Had the pierogis were in some strange gravy never seen that before. Met this lovely woman there I am pursuing. We talked for hours and then strolled along the water. Felt super close to her that night.

Friday prime rib is terrible. I've never had such a tough piece of prime rib in my 64 years. My husband got the 10 oz slow cook. It was definitely NOT slowed cooked. It was just as rubbery and hard to cut with the steak knife. Even the beans were rubbery. The women's washroom doors don't close. You have to hold them. We will never go back.

Bald bouncer should be fired.I arrived at the pub and decided to order a pitcher since my friends were arriving soon. I went outside to answer a call, as it was too loud inside, and on my way out I confirmed with a bouncer that I would be allowed back in afterwards. After my call maybe 2 mins long), I went to come back inside, and was told wait, then maybe 30 seconds later the bald guy told me to go home. I explained that I had beer waiting at my table, but was told to leave regardless. I had already paid for beer $25) and was not allowed to drink it. This is essentially theft, and should be unacceptable. Local people all know that the man is a clown, so i’m not sure why he is still there given his history. He also got in my face, then threatened to call the cops if I touched him which I had no intention of/he decided to escalate the situation for no reason). Shame that a nice place employs someone like this.

The Buck Ear used to be good. Let me explain, the food and staff are still good however the inconsistency of the food portion is unacceptable. We come here once a week and the size of food dishes changes weekly the photos below are this week. I was here last week and it was double the size or (normal). They used to have wing Wednesday and the wings were exceptional, now the wings are like crust and bone. JRG seems not to care. So that is why you get 2 stars, I would leave 1 but I like the staff and want them to make a living. It’s a Steveston staple don't ruin it!UPDATE: I emailed JRG group directly and got a great reply. I will update this review upon a few more visits and if we feel changes have been made for the better.UPDATE: Seems thing are back to normal and all is good. Kudos to the staff!
