Vino Volo - Richmond

I want to begin by saying that if you're fed up with restaurants that assault your senses with loud dance music and other soulless tunes, this is the perfect spot for you. The music here has a nice retro vibe and is played at a volume that allows for conversation without shouting. They offer a great selection of tasty beers and wines, and the food is delicious too. The service has consistently been excellent. For those who have said that the servers seem eager for you to leave, I would suggest considering your own behavior. This has become my favorite airport restaurant. Looking forward to my next visit, Vino Volo!

The experience was truly disappointing. If I could rate it a 0, I definitely would, but since that's not possible, I'll settle for a 1. The male server was extremely rude and had no manners at the table. To make matters worse, the beer was warm. I've had better service at Carl's Jr.!

Steer clear of the pizza. Although I didn't try it myself, I noticed the ones being served to other tables, and they looked like sad, dry flatbreads that were far from appetizing. One diner next to us even returned hers. On a brighter note, the cob salad was pricey but quite good. It had a generous portion with ample protein—chicken breast, boiled egg, and bacon—and there was also a nice selection of British Columbia wines.

When dining at an airport, I expect some sense of urgency from the waitstaff, as we are all trying to catch flights. Unfortunately, there was none to be found. There were long waits for our orders to be taken, for drinks to arrive, and for the food to be served. Our server hardly glanced in our direction. It wasn’t like the restaurant was busy; most of the dining area had cleared out within 15 minutes of our arrival. It felt as if the server completely forgot about us or was too overwhelmed to ask the other staff for help. I cannot recommend this place if you have a flight to catch within the next two hours.

The service was excellent, and the wine was delightful. However, all the food we ordered—pasta, a sandwich, and pizza—seemed to be microwaved and was overpriced. I would recommend this place for a glass of wine.
