Coghlans At Barningham - Richmond

I recently visited this charming and unique little restaurant to celebrate my cousin's 80th birthday. Four of us went for afternoon tea on Saturday, and once again, it was amazing! I've been there several times before for both midday and afternoon tea, and the food was excellent as always, with top-notch service. I've recommended this place to many friends over the years, and they have all enjoyed their experiences. I adore going to places for afternoon tea, and I can honestly say that Coghlans is by far the most beautiful, consistently offering the best quality food and service in the northeast! This was a Groupon deal, so the price was excellent. However, the experience could have been improved. The shop had a fantastic selection of quiches and cheese sweets, but they weren’t included in the afternoon tea. My only other issue was that the room was quite cold.

The fantastic food and pleasant atmosphere make this an unforgettable dining experience. With up to five courses, it's definitely worth bringing your appetite! The dining room is cozy, which ensures attentive service and beautifully presented dishes, making each plate a delight. Highly recommend!

Amazing lunch, asparagus and tomato quiche...pastry so thin and crispy, fantastic. Chicken terrine, gloriously unctuous. Superb homemade food...top quality. Their shop is brilliant also, homemade breads, pork pies, Cornish pasties and locally sourced honey.
