Chum Chum Onigiri - Richmond

I attended the grand opening of this restaurant and decided to try a variety of dishes. The tteokbokki was exceptional and exactly what I was craving. The dumplings were bursting with flavor and the accompanying sauce was delicious. The brown sugar milk tea with boba had a delightful sweetness to it. The vegan onigiri made with braised tofu exceeded my expectations. I found everything to be reasonably priced and would highly recommend giving this place a try!

I absolutely adore this restaurant! I stopped by in early November 2020 while traveling through Richmond and needed a quick meal. The woman working there was incredibly kind and efficient. I was a bit hesitant at first because there weren't many reviews or photos on Google or Yelp, so I hope my review helps as I discovered they had recently opened. I enjoy supporting small businesses! I ordered 2 sweet potato rice balls, which I loved, a tofu rice ball, and a shrimp appetizer. I can't wait to try their boba next time. What stands out to me most about this place is their commitment to sustainability with bamboo boba straws and paper bowls. I love it! I wish them all the success in the future!

This restaurant in Richmond may be one of the few spots that offers onigiri. The shop is cute and has great flavors. It has a super charming and kawaii atmosphere. Please note that sauces come with an extra charge. I was a bit surprised that the sausage and egg onigiri, as well as the garlic butter salmon onigiri, were served at room temperature instead of warm, but they were still delicious. I also tried a strawberry vegan bubble tea with crystal lychee pearls. There is a small and adorable outdoor seating area, as indoor dining is not yet available.

KAWAII! Very cute little Onigiri shop with lots of unique items. They also give you the option of having your Onigiri made warm. Boba tea is delicious too but there are many other treats as well, such as Takoyaki, salted duck egg bao, and Bingsu bowls. Staff was also very friendly.

Amount friendly staff a warm welcoming place all around. I got the garlic butter salmon Onigiri ???? 10 out of 10 best Onigiri I've had since Japan you can tell it was made with love.
