The guac and homemade tostadas were bland, and the street corn off the cob was literally a can of corn dumped into a bowl with one little dab of cotija cheese. The water from the can of corn was at the bottom of the bowl ! Husband specifically wanted to try their Octopus, which was tough and overly spiced as if the kitchen thought just dumping a lot of chili spice on something would make it authentic Mexican in preparation. It was a big portion, but if you want great Octopus, go to Demi 's or Stella 's!
We went to Lolita's for the first time this past Saturday. Ambience was fun, energetic. The esquites (corn appetizer) was delicious. The cheese on the quesadillas was perfect. The meat on the tacos and quesadillas is tender and a very generous serving. Will definitely be going back.
First time dining here... It was a very tasty meal, cool vibe, and great service. They also did well accommodating my wife's celiac restrictions... But I honestly felt like it was a pretty lousy value for what we ordered. I would consider going back on a date, but would hesitate to bring a group here for dinner. 4 tostadas isn't much of an appetizer (they charge extra if you request more), and they really scrimp on the salsa too (though it was fun to try their three unique flavors). Margaritas were $12 each. They were well made, but nothing truly exceptional. Also, they do 1 hand made corn tortilla per taco... They're great tortillas, but fall apart just like every other corn tortilla, so they really ought to consider doubling them up like many other places. Anyway... In addition, we each ordered two tacos and shared a side of rice beans... Add on a good tip, and you're approaching $100 on Mexican food for two (no leftovers). Sure, it's a much nicer vibe when compared with more common Mexican joints like Casa Grande, but I wouldn't say the food is so impressive that it warrants this pricing. Again, service was great and we really enjoyed the experience... But I personally put more emphasis on food — and overpaying for relatively inexpensive ingredients, scrimpy portions, and food that's about 8.5/10 just doesn't feel that fancy to me.
Awesome authentic Mexican food with delightful drinks and service. Craft cocktails taste fresh from Tulum and the dishes were really tasty. Tuna Ceviche and Soy Chorizo tacos were excellent along with Brussel sprouts.
It was okay. They were about to switch seasonal menus so they were out of 90% of the menu, they accept reservations until 9 but cut off food service by 8:45 and the booths were being ripped up around us to be reupholstered. The servers were very friendly and the food was good although I couldn't get anything I actually wanted since they were out of everything. I'd give it another try probably
