Miyabi Sushi - Richmond

This is definitely the best sushi restaurant I've tried in Richmond so far. The portion sizes were impressive, and the prices were great. I ordered the Jimmy Smith roll and the Main St roll, and both were delicious—I can’t choose which one I liked more! My girlfriend had the Bubba and Firecracker rolls, and she thinks the crunch and spice of the Firecracker made it her favorite. This place far surpasses Lucky AF over in Scott's Addition. I'll definitely be returning soon!

The food was fantastic, featuring fresh ingredients that really burst with flavor! While the restaurant handles a high volume of delivery orders, which can impact the speed of in-house dining, it was by no means slow. The service was also good.

The staff was friendly and the interior decor was playful, but unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. For our appetizer, we ordered the tempura basket, but the batter was excessively thick and didn’t resemble true tempura; it was more akin to heavy breading than a light batter. We also tried several rolls, all of which were quite bland and lacked freshness. The sushi rice tasted like plain rice with no hint of rice vinegar, the sashimi on top was mushy and flavorless, leading to a very disappointing meal overall. I had high hopes based on the reviews, and perhaps we visited on an off night, but this is one of the few occasions where I didn’t finish my meal— it was just that unsatisfactory.

When I entered the restaurant, I noticed that the place was clean and there weren’t any guests waiting outside. I was greeted promptly as soon as I walked in. The atmosphere was quite pleasant for a Saturday evening. My order was taken by the waitress shortly after I arrived, but unfortunately, her people skills left much to be desired. She was quite rude when I inquired about a menu item. While I would consider returning, I would prefer to avoid that particular waitress in the future.

One of the best sushi spots in Richmond, without a doubt. The interior had a lovely atmosphere.
