It was holy evening. everyone was festive. the service was attentive. we had one each – that was spicy, but not too much. we look forward to going back
We had an early reservation during the week. we were the first to come to dinner this evening. we were immediately greeted what was nice. the meal was tasteful, but the wobbles in the tikka masala were slightly boiled, so that they felt too crisp. they were seasoned well and aromatic. we enjoyed the naan especially. we thought it was also strange that the menu did not pay on it. the restaurant is beautifully decorated. the bathrooms were a bit tired looking and not as beautiful curated as the main area. overall it was a better than average experience. it is very pleased that the restaurant fills when we have eaten our meal.
First time there, we were heading to the Seinfeld show at 9:30 so the reservation was for 7:45. It was 15 minutes before I left our seat and asked a bartender if anyone as going to assist us. She was our server and came over shortly after. We placed our food and drink order right then and there to avoid another long wait…our drinks came promptly and our food took an hour. I was fuming. Mostly because we had a show to attend and didn’t want to rush through the meal…which was AMAZING. I wanted to be very transparent with this review because if you are in a rush, this is not your place. If you don’t mind waiting, run don’t walk because again, the food was absolutely amazing! My attitude went away with the first bite. I will definitely return but with no plans afterwards.
We were looking forward to Indian food for our first night in Richmond...we had a reservation and were seated within a reasonable amount of time, after that things started to go bad....they seemed disorganized and under staffed...we waited 25 minutes for somebody to take our drink order. We were also given menus that had no pricing which just seemed wrong....even with rapidly changing prices there are ways around this....like using QR codes, etc. As we waited for our drinks we could see service rapidly deteriorating around us and lots of customers coming in...so we decided to get out while we could. I know restaurants are struggling with staffing but they really need to cut back on the reservations that they take if it's a problem. Overall this place gets an F without even tasting any food!
