It is a small space and dimly lit, very cozy, and some of the tables can see into the kitchen which is always cool to me. I enjoyed the Red Sangria: it was fruity and not too sweet. The menu offered soooo many interesting choices but we eventually decided on: Pla Muk Jetsai grilled calamari stuffed with ground pork, onions, cilantro, and peanuts. This was my favorite and I would goback just for it. Jok Gai Thai congee with ground chicken, runny egg, quail egg, shiitake mushrooms, ginger, onions, dried pork. This was very fun; every bite was a combination of different flavors. A fun introduction to congee for me I was worried about the texture but it wasn?t gelatinous at all. More like a porridge. Guay Teaw Pet roasted duck leg in duck bone broth with rice noodles, Chinese broccoli, Thai celery, bean sprouts, cilantro, garlic oil. Very tastyrich broth with a strong flavor (reminded me of 5 spice) and the duck fell right off the bone. No desserts to try, but I will definitely be going back to try some other fun things!
Food tastes good shrimp in the food is dried shrimp. Overall ambience and food is good. The fruit juice was a bit too sweet cuz of the sugar syrup. There is a parking lot right next to the restaurant and its free. The soups were okay. And the Jab Chai soup didnt have vermicelli in it. Also it will be good to mention which one is a hot dish and which one is cold. I wanted to have a hot dish and didn't find it necessary to ask the temperature and i got cold one. I believe theitems you order from the everything else side is mainly cold.
This is a really cute place with unique decorations. It was not crowded when I visit but there are no places for us ladies to put or bags because the chairs has not backs nor the tables has bo hooks. We ordered the Khanom Chin Nam Ya Gai, Kao Kook Kape, and Moo Su Wan. The Khanom Chin Nam Ya Gai is a creamy coconut curry cooked with chilies and ground chicken served with thin rice noodles, chinese long beans, cabbage and pickled mustard greens. My friend and I both are nota fan of it, both the look of it nor the taste. I looks like s**t to be honest and I hate the ginger taste of it(I hate ginger . The texture of the ground chicken is not good at all, and it was kinda too spicy. Which is why we ordered theMoo Su Wan. This dish tasted much better than that s**t. It is fried sweet and spicy pork marinated in spices and honey served with sticky rice. It is a new thing for me to have sticky rice instead of jasmine rice in an Asian cuisinerestaurant, and it is good. The pork is kinda hard but I really like the flavor of it, the balance of the savory and sweetness was well done. It comes with a lime-ish sauce that is too spicy but it will taste better with that sauce, so Iguess I'll just have to chug a bunch of water lol. We also tried some of our friend's Kao Kook Kape, which is shrimp paste fried rice with pork belly, sweet sausage, fried tofu, scramble egg, and onion. It is not bad, nothing spectacularbecause the ingredients are just cooked as it is, no special sauce or flavors. The sweet sausage is actually the Chinese sausage(?? .
This food is new and exciting to the western taste buds. Some familiar flavors (Chinese 5-spice etc) But its a great place to try something you?ve never had before, it?s almost guaranteed to be dank! Amazing atmosphere, decent service and wonderful comfort food.
We loved this place, it was a pleasant surprise, as we knew nothing about it and we decided to go through a belly feeling. The food was amazing, original mix of flavors and really well cooked, I really loved our plates. Drinks were also very good and different. Service was also really nice and attentive, I really enjoyed the mood of a small local place. I really recommend this place!
