The Lobby - Richmond

We were here for dinner on Christmas. The restaurant is beautiful and the decorations were understated and lovely. Unfortunately the menu that was online was not available and only the appetizers were available. They were delicious and beautifully presented but we left still hungry after ordering a cheese platter, two “dinner-like” plates and the broiled Brussel sprouts.

The decor was lovely. However, the pacing and service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. One entree came to table and the next two came out 9 minutes later. The final entree was another 7 minutes behind. As we did not want to eat cold entrees, we ended up waiting as long as possible, and then gave up each eating our lukewarm dinners in shifts. Frankly, the restaurant should have been embarrassed and provided some form of compensation on a 250.00 bill. Instead there was nary a mention of the abysmal service. Additionally, the entrees of the mushroom, ricotta gundi were very disappointing and I suggest removing that from your offerings. We tipped 20% as it was Christmas Eve and we have compassion for the servers working that evening. But as an establishment that presents as an upscale choice, the evening was a dismal failure.

Unfortunately use of the side entrance made our table so cold we were forced to crowd together and wear coats. Food was good but not all shareables were more than a single portion

Loved visiting for the holidays. Our waiter wasn’t overly friendly, but we still had a nice time.
