Took almost 25 min and we ordered around 1130, the explanation was the chef just arrived. So I guess the customer should go there after 12. Singapore noodles not spicy and the bbq pork were not cut finely, they were too chunky and it tasty at all. The Satay beef rice noodles was ok, no wow factors.
Ever since its opening a few years back. For some unknown reason, I have been ignoring its existence...until now. Nestles inside a very busy strip plaza on the Highway 7 strip, its presence is amongst one of dozens of eateries saturating the place. Known by locals for its value for money luncheon offerings, I decided to try it out today...and I 'm glad I did! The ' Baked Ox-tongue with tomato sauce spaghetti ' I ordered must be one of the tastiest rendition of this popular Hong Kong cafe style dish in the GTA. Creamy, aromatic sauce that was nicely seasoned, the star of the dish was undoubtedly the fork tender and nicely caramelized ox-tongue. The Hong Kong style milk tea was also nicely brewed and prepared. Overall, a very enjoyable experience which beckons a return visit in the very near future.
Brought visitors from Europe to this restaurant. Made a reservations and tables were ready on arrival. A set menu was ordered main dishes were peking duck with thin pancakes and lobsters along with other vegetable and meat dishes. Guests liked the food. Have dined at this restaurant many times.
It really stands out among the sea of Chinese/Asian restaurants along Hwy7 East. After reading many positive reviews on Yelp, we decided to pay a visit on a weekday evening, and were surprised to see it was almost full house before 6pm. Later we learnt that this place is packed most of the time, and usually with a line in and out of the door during peak hours. Thus better to make a reservation if want a weekend dinner here. The food is good and the price is nearly unbelievable (cheap). But don’t expect a smile and warm greeting from the host/hostess- they all seemed overworked. And the service is less attentive. Whenever we needed something, we had to flag down someone. Their “combo for 4/6/8” selections are the most popular: for as low as $49.99, a set dinner offers 2 lobsters, chicken, pork, and vegetable dishes with complimentary soup of the day! If you like tasty food, good price, and don’t mind paying cash for a filling meal, then this is a place to go.
Been there once for Afternoon Tea and decided to go back for the second time and tried the same order Deep Fried Pork Cutlet w/salad. The Afternoon Tea menu comes with a complimentary hot drink and I chose the HK Style Mile Tea. The deep fried Pork Chop was excellent crispy, crunchy and tasty! The salad was so so, like a fruit salad. I would suggest that if they could add some potato salad in the mix. That should improve the overall dish. Price is very reasonable and the service was fast and efficient. The menu is huge with many dishes. They are known for seafood which I will definitely go back and check it out. Open from 8am for HK style breakfast until 11:30am. Lunch Combos; Day Specials; Afternoon Tea, Dinner Selections. Check it out.!
