Tangerine Asian Cuisine - Richmond Hill

After many years, I finally returned to Tangerine. I have always been a fan of their food, especially their wide variety of vegetarian dishes. We ordered the popular Manchurian Veggie Balls, Veggie Hakka Noodles, Veggie Fried Rice, Chilli Chicken, and Orange Chicken. I was a bit disappointed to see that the noodle and rice dishes came in smaller containers, but once transferred to serving dishes, the portions were satisfying. Everything was flavorful, except for the Orange Chicken, which was overly sweet with only a few orange slices. I appreciated being able to choose the level of spiciness for all the dishes. Our bill came to around $55. A helpful tip: they offer a 10% discount for cash payments.

I really enjoy ordering takeout from this restaurant! The food is always piping hot when I pick it up. Ordering over the phone is quick and easy. They have a wide variety of menu options, including rice, noodles, fish, and meat dishes. There is even a vegetarian section on the menu, so there is something for everyone! I love the flavors and the dishes are always perfectly spicy. The generous amount of sauce on the main dishes is a nice touch. They also offer a 10% cash discount, making the already great prices even more worth it. I recently ordered 5 dishes for around $50 and was very satisfied with the generous portions. I will definitely continue choosing Tangerine for takeout because of the delicious food and unbeatable prices!

I ordered a large meal for a birthday party on Saturday, September 10th, 2022, with a 4pm pickup time. The food was extremely stale, it seemed like they just threw all the old ingredients from the back of the fridge into the takeout containers. I do not recommend this restaurant at all; there are many other good Hakka spots nearby.

I think this is a go-to hakka place for many people in the area and lesser for out-of-the-area but I could be wrong. It's been a fantastic experience almost every time. The staff is friendly, and efficient... they know what they're doing. They have fantastic hours and have managed to maintain an appropriate level of seating for their customer table turnover. There's some dishes on this menu that have amazing value, if you get those, there's really no going wrong. In my (vegetarian experienced... if I do say so myself) opinion, these include the veggie Manchurian balls, veggie fried rice, and hakka noodles. You may have to remember to ask for your fortune cookie or hot sauces once in a while but overall I'm a fan.

Tangerine is one of several Hakka restaurants in the Markham/14th area. Taste is alright, but the takeout portion size for Bombay chicken was a let down especially after reading the reviews for here and obviously having gone to some of the other restaurants in that area. The upside is that the taste was definitely comparable, although I think Hakka Legend is a bit better with the Bombay. They do have some dish combos where you can get two or more items for a lower price, and that's nice. They are also generally a bit faster in service but that might also be because there wasn't a line up when we went in! Basically, Tangerine doesn't quite have the BEST quality or quantity, but it's still fairly tasty, and fast.
