Came to their location in Scarborough said it was open for dine in or take out but alas that was a lie. Told me they don’t actually serve food out of this location. The guy told me they like people to see their open on Google Maps despite the fact that they don’t serve food from this location. Edit: In response to the owners reply: I’m sorry I didn’t get the name of the employee who told me the above. I can assure you this is what I was told. I understand your business is a food truck but your listing has hours of operation, states your open for take out and provides a location. Surely you can see how this would be misleading to potential patrons.
They were at poutine fest in Mississauga. Some of the worst poutine I've ever had. Fries under cooked and cold curds. Gravy and fries were not hot enough to melt the curds.
Bar none the best BBQ sandwich I have ever had! Flavor was out of this world and I went back for a second!!! These guys need to franchise!!! I totally forgot to sample the Macon cheese... I'll let you all know! Bet it's super!!!
One of the variety of food trucks available in the Yonge-facing parking lot of Hillcrest Mall. Been here several times now with some failed attempts (more about that later). The Smoke Stop's menu consists of a large amount of BBQ dishes and also a healthy (or not) amount of deep fried options too. I thought that presenting people with the ability to order items through scanning QR codes on board with a list of menu items for people that did not want to wait in line to order was pretty intuitive. I believe prices are fair for the portion sizes and definitely worth it to stop by. The first time I visited, I ordered The Super Fly Poutine and it was not the wrong choice. Deep fried crunchy chicken on top of fries and cheese curds and everything covered in a beef gravy. Delish. Surprisingly the chicken stayed crispy even after bringing it home. Many other places have decent fries but the cheese and gravy ultimately fall flat. I strongly believe that a poutine is defined by its cheese and gravy and the Smoke Stop does not fail to deliver. I have no idea what their secret ingredient is, but it's working. Essentially the only issue I have with the Smoke Stop and the only thing preventing me from giving them a 5/5 is the fact that their opening times are inconsistent. Half the times I've visited around 12:30-1pm they were not open while all other food trucks were luckily open during lunch, forcing me to find an alternative. One of the things that keeps people coming is consistency. If they posted some kind of announcement that informed customers of why their opening times were inconsistent, that would be great. I would love to visit more often, but the random opening times are preventing me due to the fact that they might or might not be open, and I would prefer not to make wasted trips.
