When I received the bill, I noticed a 12% service charge included. I asked the server (who was originally from Venice) if that amount was the tip, and he informed me that it was not, but if I wanted to leave a tip, it had to be in cash. Used to the custom of tipping in Canada, we ended up leaving an additional £5 in cash. This request for cash made me uncomfortable, and when I returned to my hotel, I researched tipping practices in London restaurants. It turns out that if a service charge is already added to the bill, there is no need to leave an additional tip. I felt deceived and upset that I had been double tipped. Due to this dishonesty, I would not consider dining at this restaurant again.
I’ve been coming into the cafe on and off for a couple of years now and it always feels like a warm hug when you pass through the doors. Food is amazing, they are totally accommodating to children, dogs and loud noises (my eldest can be overly chatty like most kiddies with Down Syndrome can be). I can’t thank them enough for making me feel at home before, during and after moving into the area. Totally worth a drink, a snack, or stop for full meal! You will not be disappointed.
I've been staying in East Sheen for the last couple of weeks and have enjoyed 3 fantastic dinners here. I'd been here before with an elderly relative a few years ago. The food is truly excellent and the owner and staff are lovely. I recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking excellent Italian food. I've had a few chats with the owner about cars too!
This restaurant gets better and better and retains its simplicity and the family is charming. I live in a country of fantastic food and wine, but I have to say that this little place punches way above its weight. I won't go through the menu, we were a party of six and chose various things and it was all very, very good. Dona Rosa controls the kitchen. Congratulations!
Leo, the host, is absolutely charming! As soon as I entered the restaurant, I felt like I was stepping into the cozy front room of a vintage, rustic house. The hospitality, big smiles, and warm welcome from the staff made me feel right at home. The authentic Italian cuisine served here is bursting with flavor, and it's clear that the staff truly enjoy what they do. It's difficult to find such genuine Italian food outside of Italy, and the level of service here is nearly impossible to come by in London. On certain evenings, they even offer live entertainment, so be sure to make your reservation in advance.
