Ridgway Lodge And Star Saloon

Room was nice and clean. No problem there. But we didn't feel welcome with a dog. Apparently many dog owners who have stayed in this hotel in the past have been irresponsible, which ruins it for the rest of us! We felt under suspicion as soon as we checked in. Not a good welcome. Oh my, what a gorgeous setting and the ambiance of the lodge is most definitely western slope and offers superb Colorado hospitality. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view

It's being renovated so most of it is very nice! The rooms are very cute and comfortable. There aren't quite enough easily accessible outlets though. The bar and restaurant seem nice, but the bar closed early every night and the restaurant isn't open yet. No food. The coffee bar also wasn't really open for breakfast. You get the free drip coffee and that's it. I imagine it'll be great once they get everything up and running. Rooms: 4

There was a complaint lodged against our dogs for barking while we were away for about one hour. The hotel rep said ,as I understand, that the complaint ain't banged on our door before letting the hotel know. This made our doors extremely nervous and high with anxiety so that when we returned they were even more anxious the rest of the evening. The rep called just as we drive up and as we entered we saw the complaint ain't once again down the hall. She came then to us and asked if we would be willing to change rooms down the gall. I said no because our dogs have never in all our travels been called down before and never had we been called before. I pro.ised her we would keep them quiet and we did. Plus we would have lost a king bed for two double beds. I believe this person behaved extremely badly in a short period of time. Banging on our door was SO Way of line. He should have been moved. Would he have done that for a crying child? Noteworthy details: The rooms were not particularly quiet. Each time a door shut, it slammed loudly. The people above us could be heard walking with each step and was annoying. Although we couldn't hear our neighbor, apparently the walls were thin enough for him to hear us. The motel was in a beautiful setting and the rooms were design in a beautiful way. The bath was small.

The hotel itself is very nice. At the time of our stay they were remodeling the restaurant and some other things. Only thing that we didn't like was that nobody was available before 7am for checking out, and there were a lot of people leaving early that morning. Also could have used more counter room in the bathroom for amenities. Rooms: 5 Service: 3
