Restorāns Zviedru Vārti - Riga

Had the grey pea with meat, herring with potato pancakes, rye bread soup beer. Food was not in large portions but tasted so good. The herring is fresh and juicy, would definitely recommend. Service is also good and atmosphere quite chill.

Nice dumplings. Gray beans and meat was tasty. Soup was super. Staff were friendly and helpful. Georgian dumplings could have gravy ro make them better.

Our evening at Zviedru Vārti was amazing! We only had dinner out one time during our stay in Riga, and we were very glad this is the place we chose. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting, like walking into someone’s home who is cooking you dinner. The lamb soup, black pudding, and potato pancakes with herring were to die for. We had hot balsam and cherry beers with our meal. Our server Dace was kind, accommodating, and had a great sense of humor. She provided us great service and a wonderful overall experience. The cook (whose name I don’t know was also very friendly and of course wonderful at his job. I highly recommend Zviedru Vārti and if I ever return to Riga I will definitely go back to dine there again! Thanks Dace! :
