Bandolim - Rio de Janeiro

The service was incredibly long (1 hour to get served all my 3 courses all at once). Unfriendly staff (my first poor experience in Rio), not English-friendly. The food was heavy and not particularly tasty. The place is large and beautiful though, in a prime location. I probably wouldn’t recommend.

The restaurant is located directly next to the famous stairs Escadaria Selaron in the center of Lapa. They have a completely vegan menu which consists of traditional brazilian dishes in a vegan version as well as some burgers and other vegan treats. They also have an extensive cocktail menu. We tried a burger, a hummus dish and the cauliflower wings and the food tasted good. The only downside was the portion sizes which could have been a bit bigger.

They have a bunch of options of traditional Brazilian food made vegan. On top of that are cocktails and desserts, plus sometimes they have live music.
