El Rio Cafe - Riverbank

Clean, welcoming, relaxing atmosphere and beautifully renovated restaurant. I lived in Riverbank for two years and this is my last time. What have I been waiting for? This is my new favorite Mexican joint. Salsa is excellent. The Nachos and Burritos are very good. But the shrimps. ****, the shrimps are amazing. They call it Camarones ala Kora. Get it. They also have handmade corn tortillas. Finish with deep fried ice.

Great place. Friendly and very good food. It was great. Everything was so good. Would recommend this place to anyone who likes good Mexican food. And drinks

I can say that this place has some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten in a restaurant. The fish tacos were fresh and full of taste. But the service was the worst I ever had. I will not come into concrete things because it is not important to me to say badly about people, but they can use work to train their employees to servers. Fix, and they'll be five stars.

We had only the most amazing Saturday afternoon enjoying the best shrimp empanadas Micheladas in this facility. The service was great and welcoming the atmosphere. My brother visited from Hawaii wanted him to enjoy great authentic Mexican good I am proud to say El Rio Cafe not disappointed!! We will definitely be back!!! Thank you for a great experience.

OMG the fish tacos were to die for! Rice was nice and fluffy with a great flavor profile. Sopes were light and crispy, with fresh garnish on top. Fantastic food, reasonable price, and COLD beer. Will definitely be coming back for regular visits. What a hidden gem! Waitstaff were exceptional, and met the owner who was just great. Very impressed!
