The sushi roll I ordered was made fresh in front of me and tasted delicious and fresh! I was the only customer so service was quick and the waitress was super nice. The booths were clean and we must've arrived at a good time because there was a lot of seating available in the nearby booths as well. Will definitely come back to try something else!
Been here a few times, but stopped coming for the sushi rolls and started coming for the spam musubi. Usually when I come, a female is there and is the sweetest. I've actually never had to use the kiosk other than for payment because she would take my order.I went yesterday on 4/7/23 and awkwardly stood in front of Mitchell for a bit, when he finally semi-greeted me. I greeted him and proceeded with asking for 2 spam musubis. Couldn't finish the sentence as he cut me off and just pointed to the kiosk. No biggie. But then the kiosk froze and he had to reset. Still no biggie. I paid, left a tip and waited. When my spam musubis were done, he placed them on a counter and they were Saran wrapped. No bag, no container, just individually saran wrapped sitting on the counter. Imagine getting a sushi roll, in saran wrap with no type of plate or container at a place like the food lab, where you would like to sit and eat but can't because there's nothing but saran wrap to eat your food on. I asked Mitchell if there were any containers or something that I could take. He responds that they're out of those specific containers and couldn't give me anything else because of budgets. So I ask again and go into that id pretty much take anything just so I could enjoy my food and again, mid sentence, he interrupts me with an annoyed look and tosses a container to me and says he will do it just this time and walks off. It was so awkwardI love their spam musubis but this interaction and reading other interviews made me reconsider this place.
Waitress/bartender was super friendly when I arrived and made my drink relatively quickly. I ordered a poke bowl because I was a little overwhelmed at the entire food lab and didn’t know what I wanted and I was very happy with how everything tasted. Maybe I should have ordered a specialty roll to get something a little more special but their rolls were a bit pricy compared to the $20ish poke bowl with three proteins so that’s what I went with. They do offer a happy hour.. luckily I found a spot at their bar because the majority of the food lab struggled with AC so it was pretty toasty with all the people in the common area on a Friday night.
Came to try out the sushi at Maki and omg what a horrendous experience. First of all the ONE lady working, asked us to get up and order at the register while other ppl who got there she went and took their order at their seats. The food was ready about 25 min after we ordered. The food was so terrible the salmon had fibers and strings sticking out and was brown and fatty. Never eating at this place again. So disappointing you can tell the owner of this place doesn’t care for customer experience nor quality of food. Wasted my money on sushi I couldn’t even eat because I felt scared to get sick.
